The Index Bindery was born out of the desire to honour and re-use the top-quality remnants from the fine binding industry which would otherwise go to land fill. We burst into being on 1st April 2020 once we had established a link to our supplier, just next door. We have partnered up with Ludlow Bookbinders Limited, who produce award winning fine books, to create luxury stationery items which have an ecological conscience. A great deal of excess leather is generated by commercial bookbinders in awkward shaped pieces. We are able to re-purpose these into all our products.

Our leather and linen notebooks and lifestyle books make beautiful personalised eco friendly gifts. The distance our materials have to travel is merely a matter of yards to working benches in a unit neighbouring our supplier. This approach enables us to offer exceptional quality stationery at affordable prices.
